This picture reminds of a Dutch Renaissance painting. The Renaissance painters always liked painting food. Or dead things that would eventually be food. I guess I can kind of understand the attraction. It's glossy and colorful. It makes you want to capture the essence. Wouldn't it be neat if you could paint smells into a painting too? Well, maybe not if this picture was a painting. I don't know how much fun it would be to smell fish & oysters.

Sometimes this is what breakfast on the run looks like. Tossed in the car along with my purse, my camera bag, the Wall Street Journal. 5 minutes late. Inevitably. It's like a disease. No matter how early I wake up. But bananas are a good "on the run" food. They're self-contained and don't require refrigeration. That can come in handy. They also fit well in the hand. And that's handy too.

This dude looks like his feet are big, bouncing rubber balls. I guess he's supposed to look like he's riding a bike. He was painted on the pavement of the bikepath. I guess "watch for bikers" is a more logical conclusion than "watch for dudes with big balls for feet." Although the latter is infinitely more interesting.

This Poki is a very cute cat, though a tad cross-eyed and a little bit dumb. He turns into mush when you scratch him under his chin. Or behind his ears. Or on his belly. He purrs really loudly and drools, too.

Cherries are one of my favorites fruits. I happen to like lots of fruit, but when it's cherry pickin' season, yum yum yum. I like Rainier cherries too. Cherry preserves, cherry cobbler, cherry ice cream, cherry cordials, and then just good ole fresh cherries. Eat with caution, however. They can cause intestinal embarrassments.

When I first ordered all of my cameras from lomo, my favorite subject was a pink inner-tube which became affectionately though uncreatively known as Pinkie. Then I went to Longs and bought a whole bunch of others and Pinkie got some friends. These are some of the Cross Processed results.

Self Portraits are not so easy when you don't have a place to set your camera to use the timer feature. Then follows the issue of not being able to tell if your image will be too blurry. So then when you've taken a whole bunch of crappy pictures, you come up with the clever ploy of calling them "artistic." As if that will set aside the issue. It feels good, though.

In this relatively new 35mm picture taking hobby I have acquired, I have discovered the joys of Cross Processing. Xprocessing is taking a roll of slide film, putting in your camera, snapping a whole bunch of pictures, and then having it processed like regular 35mm film rather than slides. It's a tad pricey, but it's liable to give you some snazzy results.

For some reason I cannot get enough of gerbera daisies. I'm not sure if it's because they come in so many different bright colors or because it has been nearly impossible to kill the pot of them I have on the front stoop. Minimum amount of fuss with maximum results. I like that.

This barn looks a lot cooler in this picture than it did when I took the picture. Here, it looks like it could be haunted or perhaps set the scene for a horror flick, when the couple is necking in the hay before the big boogeyman shows up and the chick screams and the dude tries to protect her and they both get chopped into little pieces.

Sebastiani Theater is the coolest theater ever. Indie films and film festivals. I used to perform the Nutcracker there every year when I was a kid. I got to be a Bon-Bon, a Mouse, a Chestnut Seller, and a Chinese Run Arounder. I performed on stage, I was a star!

I have this nifty camera from lomo called a supersampler. I broke the mechanism that makes the film advance. I'm very sad about this turn of events. It is very unfair. But before I broke it, I took a nice self-portrait in the chrome of an old Chrysler. I may need to break down and purchase another camera.

Wedding II - EurekaWe went to a wedding in Eureka at a place called Arrington Apples. I lived there for 2 years and I'd never heard of it. It made me wish we'd had our wedding there instead of me freaking out and trying to do everything myself. As usual. One of the cakes was the Apple icon. Very suave.

Susan looked beautiful in her dress. She and I went to school together from 1st grade through 12th. We hadn't seen each other in years. Then we ran into each other in an airport in Eureka. We were scheduled on the same flight to LA. We sat next to each other and talked the entire flight. Catching up on over 10 years. So we kept in touch. She invited us to their wedding. I am such a LOSER, I didn't even invite her to ours. I hate when I stupid things like that without meaning to.

The upstairs' neighbors at my mom's office have an eclectic assortment of plants. I always want to take off with a few of their pots, but that wouldn't be very nice. They are antique dealers. They have the coolest stuff (aside from their plants) that I have ever seen.

It is next to impossible to take decent pictures of fireworks. It doesn't help any when you're sitting in the street directly under a streetlamp. We watched them this year on the sidewalk in front of Linny's house. I wanted to go to the field, and be right beneath them, but I was catching a cold, I didn't want to walk. You make do with what y'got.

I don't swim very often. I tell people it's a fear of skin cancer. Truth of it is, I'm too embarrassed to put my rear in a bathing suit where I will be viewed Joe Public. It's a fear like people have of spiders or vermin. I wonder if there is a phobia name specifically for not liking to be scene in public in a bathing suit?
When it gets too hot, however, I will slink into the backyard and jump in the pool. KERSPLASH.

When I do laundry, I always color coordinate. Dave tries, but I'm the ultra-anal color coordinator when it comes to laundry. I hate pink pilly-balls on my black sweaters, or black fuzz on my white towels. Then in the summer, I always hang it on the line to conserve energy. Another anal thing. I don't even pay the electric bill. But the guilt factor makes me be conservation conscious. I would do it regardless. Save the Fuzzy Naveled Hoot Owl.

Nicola's eyes' were bugging her. She wasn't really into listening to Mark Burgess play old Chameleon hits. But I thought he was great.
I wished I'd taken guitar lessons when I was a kid instead of piano. I have no piano skills left whatsoever. If I'd learned how to play guitar, I would have pretended I was a rock star. It's hard to pretend you're a rock star on a piano.
